Q1. What is Impact Hub?
An Impact Hub consists of three distinct elements.
First, it is a vibrant community of passionate and entrepreneurial people who share an underlying intention to bring about positive change and act as peers to cross-fertilize and develop their ventures.
Second, it is a source of inspiration that provides meaningful content through thought-provoking events, learning spaces, programs and facilitated conversations that support positive impact.
Third, an Impact Hub is a physical space that offers a flexible and highly functional infrastructure to work, meet, learn and connect. The magic happens where these three elements connect and are brought to life through the art of hosting.
The idea spread like wildfire and resulted in the emergence of a global movement to create Impact Hubs in more than 100 cities around the world and is still growing.
Q2. What is Vuka/Vuka Collective?
Vuka Collective is a mission-driven organization that manages and serves an ecosystem of related businesses - including Impact Hub Austin, Gather Venues, and Wake Up.
The word "Vuka" means, "to awaken." Each day, whether it's through our coworking communities (Impact Hub Austin), our event spaces (Gather Venues) or our transformational programming (Wake Up), we help people "wake up" to their their greatest potential and provide opportunities and resources for them to realize that potential.
All of our businesses and services are connected through Vuka Collective which enables us stay rooted in our mission, our vision, our values and our human-first approach.
Q3. Do I get access to other Impact Hubs?
Yes! You have access to Global Impact Hub Passport!
If you're a member of Impact Hub Austin, you can visit every Impact Hub three days a year, every year. So what does this mean? If you wanted to stop by Impact Hub Accra for three days, then jump over to Impact Hub Mexico City for three days and then to Impact Hub Tokyo for three days - you can!
All you have to do is use this form to notify the Impact Hub you'd like to visit. You should get a response from them between 4-5 business days confirming your arrival.
Q4. What kind of support do I get for being part of the Impact Hub Austin community?
Impact Hub Austin offers a diverse range of programming events and resources for all of our members. Check out our Events Calendar for programming in our space. We also encourage members to share their talents in the community. Learn more about how you can host programming and events in our space.
Q5. Who is working in the space?
Impact Hub Austin draws a uniquely diverse membership. We have nonprofits and for-profit businesses with a healthy mix of folks focused locally and globally. You'll find people working on everything from building wells in Kenya to cyber security, marketing to clothing design, architecture to international group travel, green energy to health and wellness and so much more.
Q6. How do I book a conference room?
It’s really easy to see availability and book conference rooms through our online booking system. Visit Cobot.me and sign in with the login and password you set up when you started your membership with us. Once signed in select Booking Calendar, select + New Booking, and input your desired day, timeframe , and conference room (Resource), Enter your name/company name into the Member field, and select Book Now.
Q7. Where can I make my business phone calls?
All of our locations have phone booths and conference rooms for member use. Both can be reserved for a specific call time.
